I started drawing The Silly Chickens as a request from my children. My daughter would ask me to draw a chicken. Then to draw a chicken with a flower, with a bee, with an umbrella and so on. Her requests were cute and fun. They got me creating everyday and working on new ways to show her that The Silly Chickens were brave and learning something new on the farm.
The more I drew them the better they got and as time went by I wondered what a Silly Chicken book would look like. So we created a book to help us learn colors. My children loved it, and would request it daily. The fun my kids had as we followed The Silly Chickens through their day was reason enough for me to keep drawing them. As a parent it is extremely exciting to see your kids light up with excitement when they recognize the color on each page and yell out the names.
Their excitement naturally led to me thinking other children might enjoy seeing The Silly Chickens and all the things they find.
The Silly Chickens first book is all about colors. Your child gets to help the chickens name the colors on the flowers they find. Once the first book is released for sale I plan to have others available shortly after – learning shapes, numbers and so much more. I hope to turn The Silly Chickens into an early learning collection with books and toys your children will enjoy for years.
If you like chickens especially silly ones and have kids who love them too, be sure to connect with me on Instagram for sneak peeks of the book and Silly Chicken illustrations.
